They don't tell you about newborn ears. When they are first born and very fresh, the ears look like little bits of nothing. Like hollowed out turkish apricots that were blanched and then left in the sun too long and then slightly rehydrated.
About 24 hours later, your baby will have ears like a normal baby.
Mine has BEAUTIFUL ears. I am shocked. There are no weird little bumps or lumps on them like on mine, there are no moles, no freckles, no hairs, no broken blood vessels, nothing but absolutely beautiful ears.
I want to kiss them all the time.
And her neck. I want to chew on it, it's so yummy and plump and precious. I want to bury my face in her little neck and kiss it and make her laugh. She will giggle in her sleep, but she currently has yet to give a quality guffaw while awake.
However, she does smile.

6 weeks old today.
And now she's wailing.
Must go take care of the beanie.
